08 Jun 2010 #5. I don''t think so because it''s a new laptop (5 months) and as i said on linux problem don''t exist :) I''ve found a cause. It was caused by graphic card, it has some weird options for power saving which i turned off so now it''s working like a charm :) Anyway thanks for sugestions! Use a plastic prying tool to unseat the edge of the backing the whole way round slowly. backing will pop off after all 4 sides are unseated. remove battery by 4 screws. you can raise the battery without unplugging it if needed. But unplug is the preferred option. The touchpad base is exposed.

its always best to shut down the pc pull power cord out press on/off switch for 8 seconds (discharge power from psu and m/b) and use the proper air dusters in a can to clean inside the case there are retailers you can buy cans from for a decent price (i use amazon for mine £10 for 4 x 400ml.)

The problem could be with the Graphics card and there is an easy solution to that. Just updating the graphics card can get rid of that pink screen on the laptop. My problem has been solved simply ( thanks to Daniel Van Vugt) by using Wayland display server on the logging screen: Click your profile > Click the white wheel in lower right corner > Choose ''Ubuntu on Wayland''. This change replaces the use of the xorg display server which seems to make a lot of arguing on the web.
